Jonty Sharples is co-founder and design partner for Hactar. Jonty talked about why digital pro-bono work sucks. There’s “real” pro bono, doing real work for the public, voluntarily and then there’s bastardised, creative agency version, which is turn up, do it for free and look good. Freelancers are now considered as too expensive, as agencies have limited time, limited budgets and huge ambitions, even though it has always been this way, across all sectors.
