Beijing #5 – Wrap up

At the end of June we invited Beijing’s budding entrepreneurs to join us in the tech hub Binggo Café for our special ‘Tech Startup Edition’ of Glug Beijing.

The venue combined with a great DJ set and visual arts created the perfect atmosphere for our five talks in both Mandarin and English covering everything from pros and cons of an IPO to how to push your company to the next level.

The evening kicked off to a great start with Liam Bates the founder of ‘Origins China’ with his talk “Zhongguancun—>???” sharing how he started up his own firm, offering hints and tip’s and the pros and cons to being invested in. Andy Mok the Managing Director of ‘Red Pagoda Resources’ followed up with his talk “Three questions to ask before you begin your startup” by exploring the five main abilities an entrepreneur should have, whether you should find a co-founder and the ideal characteristics of one.

After a short interval we were joined by John Cena the Brand Marketing Director of Gyenno who revealed his inside knowledge and personal secrets on how to best brand your startup to get out of the startup circle. Next up, William Bao Bean the Managing Director of Chinaaccelorator talked about the road to IPO discussing the pro’s and Con’s to using a VC’s and IPO’s for your business startup’s. Last but no means least our very own Jim Fields rounded off the evening with a few laughs, great videos and a rough guide to why and how you can create the perfect startup video.

Whether you made it or not be sure to check out our photo’s and videos from the evening!

Lastly a huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain to join us, to our fantastic speakers and to everyone who made the night the success it was!
